NADIA AFTER THEY DIED I WAS STARVING…THAT’S ALL I REMEMBER BECAUSE I WAS TOO LITTLE.” “ I AM NINETEEN YEARS-OLD. I was born in Grand-Anse on September 15th 1994. My life before King’s Garden was a fuzzy one because my mom and dad died tragically and I had no one to help me. Before they died I ate three times a day. After they died I was starving and I had no one to play with. I couldn’t go to school or church. That’s all I remember because I was too little. Now I live with my older sister. We have a different mother. She sells stuff. That’s her job. We pay rent to live in a house each year. Sometimes my sister had no money to pay so they would yell at us “Get out of my house!” It made me cry. My life at King’s Garden was a miracle. I had friends, and a huge playground. I left King’s Garden when I was in seventh grade and now I’m in ninth grade, so that’s a blessing. I shall have a state exam at the beginning of June to switch to tenth grade. I can’t wait to achieve my classical studies, cause I want to be a famous lawyer. In my spare time I love to listen to music, draw, and braid hair. I also love to watch and play soccer. www.heartenhaiti.org
